I added 3 scans of Despina’s new Greatest Hits album, thanks to her facebook group for this.

I just got the info that Despina released a new Greatest Hits Album, featuring some of her biggest hit songs on this past 8 years. I don’t know if it’s available to buy outside of Greece but I’ll search on some online stores. There’s also a regular edition and a special deluxe edition with 2 CDs and a DVD filled with videos. On last Friday evening Despina had her premiere in the nightly center of Thessaloniki at the “Politeia Live Clubbing”. Including her husband Demis Nikolaidis and her 2 children, she had a full front row on the first show. A relaxed Despina arrived almost three hours earlier in order to speak with her musicians and get prepared. Without any stress, the musicians passed on her dressing-room so all together could say their prayers and wish everyone a good beginning of their new program.

As the show starts, you can hear the sound of heels and immediately after it, the LED screen opens in the middle. You can distinguish the figure of Despina while the first notes of her summer hit “Υπάρχει Ζωή” rouses the world. The program is continued with alternations of songs.

Something interesting happened on this premiere; a wedding proposal. A man named Ilias asked Despina to help him propose to his girl. He had previously given Despina the ring so the Greek start went down to Natasa’s table and said: “A groom came to me and asked for help to propose a marriage. Natasa do you accept the proposal of Ilia?” The answer was obviously a “yes” and the public applauded with enthusiasm.

A little latter Despina received on stage the presence of Goin’ Through and also others. At the end of the show it was clear the satisfaction of everyone. Finally, Despina accomplished she makes what said so much months: A pop/rock program that would not classically remind in no case bouzouki.

Up until Christmas Despina will pass the weekends in Thessalonica and days in Athens with her family. In the feasts, however, they will be found familiarly in Thessalonica in order to celebrate all together.

Despina had her premiere last night and I know I’m a little behind on news, because I have been sick and unable to come online. I plan on giving the site a new layout before Christmas and work more on the video archive as soon as I feel better. Thanks for sticking with the site.

On last Wednesday December 9th, Despina Vandi attended a charity event with her children Melina and Giorgos. In a Christmas Bazaar, organized by the non-profit organization “Future” at the Hotel Semiradis in Kefalari. “The Future” is a charitable organization which stands on the side of families with children with genetic syndroms, for the last 4 years. The singer who is very sensitive to such issues could not miss it. Despina was always close to her children and participated with them in all kid’s activities. Thumbs up girl!

On Friday Despina has premiere in Politia Live Clubbing of Thessalonica with Goin’ Through. Few hours before the big premiere, Despina gave an interview in Cosmoradio 95,1 and in Virtuous. The Greek Star spoke for the friendly relations and how many important it matters to her, by leaving Heaven and following Phoebus.

About the appearances in Thessaloniki: “We have prepared a exceptional program in a center that does not exist better in Greece. The ‘? [cho] says also in Vasilis [Gkogko] that is the householder that this space it should we precisely transport him also in Athens in order to we see how they are the beautiful musical scenes. It does not tease me that is so much except stand because I have lived for years here in Thessaloniki and know that the space of airport functions from spring and afterwards, and no the winter”.

About friendship: “Friends are a family that you create, also a husband you select him while the parents you do not select. I cannot live without friends”.

About the retirement from Heaven: “Thus I had also made when I left from Minos [EMI]. I did not have nothing with the particular company, as neither with Heaven. I have him in my heart. When I was called to take a decision, if I remain or no, I went with him. We have made all these years so much successes, we tie up so much beautifully, he understands so much the one the other that for me was not subject of company of but human relation”.

About her role as mother: “What I try with my children, without I know if I am good mum or no, am judged in the future. All of us we believe that when we became parents we are also good. What I try is to pass their long times together, to be above their and place also certain limits. And I had limits when younger. We grew knowing what is correct and wrong. I believe that the substantive from all is that I try to be next to my children”.

The attendance was big and, afterwards the publication of list with the most beautiful men, as soon as came out the results for the most beautiful women of domestic showbiz according to the readers of Yupi. The truth is that the first weeks they showed that, if no in the top, sure in the first trinity would be Elena Paparizou. Finally, the 27 year old Star assembled most votes. Here’s the list, our beautiful Despina stands on number 7. Congratulations to Elena, cause I’m her fan as well.
